Satyameva Jayate’s stupendous first-day collections have come as a surprise to many. Even Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh seemed pleasantly surprised by its day 1 numbers.
He posted, “#SatyamevaJayate springs a BIG SURPRISE… Plexes are good, but single screens are ROCKING… Wed 20.52 cr. India biz. The film has managed nearly 2000 screens and thus, it has earned well from the start itself. Now it is not only John Abraham’s biggest opener but also the highest opening day for any film with an A certificate.
The last film with an A certificate to earn heavily on the first day was perhaps Grand Masti which had made Rs 12.51 crore at the box office. In fact, it was the first adult film in India to earn over Rs 100 crore. As absurd as it may sound, people did watch this sex comedy and even loved it.
Now Satyameva Jayate takes that place with Rs 20.52 crore. That means John Abraham’s anti-corruption film is going on the right track. Check out the collections right here…
